Panel of Criminal Court Judges
Corruption
(Tipikor) at the Central Jakarta District Court stated that judges Djuyamto, Agam Syarief Baharudin, and Ali Muhtarom accepted bribes not because of need, but because of greed.
This consideration was one of the reasons for the aggravating sentence for the three, who were sentenced to 11 years in prison in a bribery case against three corporations in the case of exporting Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and its derivatives in January-April 2022.
“The defendant committed this criminal act of corruption not because of need or corruption by need, but because of greed or corruption by greed,” said Chief Judge Efendi during the trial in the Hatta Ali room, Jakarta Corruption Court, Wednesday (3/12) evening.

Efendi added that Djuyamto cs’ actions did not support the state’s commitment to realizing a clean government free from corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN).
They are also seen as tarnishing the good name of the judiciary which is the last bastion of justice seekers, even though the leadership of the Supreme Court has repeatedly reminded all officers to maintain their integrity.
“The defendants are law enforcement officers who committed criminal acts while serving as Corruption Court judges. They were supposed to provide justice, but instead accepted bribes,” said the judge.
The mitigating circumstances were that the defendants had returned some of the bribes received and still had family responsibilities.
The panel of judges consisting of Efendi, Adek Nurhadi, and Andi Saputra sentenced the three to 11 years in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison.
Djuyamto was also subject to additional punishment in the form of an obligation to pay compensation of Rp. 9.21 billion, subsidiary to 4 years in prison.Meanwhile, Agam and Ali Muhtarom were required to pay compensation of IDR 6.4 billion each, subsidiary to 4 years in prison.
In this case, Djuyamto was proven to have received a bribe of IDR 9,211,864,000, while Agam and Ali each received IDR 6,403,780,000.
Meanwhile, former South Jakarta District Court Chairman Arif Nuryanta was proven to have received a bribe of IDR 14,734,276,000 and North Jakarta District Court Junior Civil Registrar Wahyu Gunawan received IDR 2,365,300,000.The verdict for Arif and Wahyu is scheduled to be read out tonight.
This sentence was lighter than the prosecutor’s request, which asked for a sentence of 12 years in prison and a fine of IDR 500 million, subsidiary to 6 months in prison for Djuyamto, Agam and Ali Muhtarom.
Both the defendants and the prosecutor stated that they would use the seven days to consider their next legal steps.
