Riau
to look for evidence related to the alleged case of extortion and/or receiving gratuities that ensnared Governor Abdul Wahid and his friends.
Today, investigators are searching the Riau Provincial Government Education Office.
“Today the team will continue actively searching the Education Service,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo in a written statement, Thursday (13/11).

Budi stated that the Corruption Eradication Committee expressed its appreciation and thanks to the entire community, especially in the Riau region, which continues to fully support law enforcement.
“Remembering that the public is the party who suffers the most from corruption which has significantly degraded the quality of development and public services,” he continued.
From Monday to Wednesday (10-12 November), investigators had already searched the Riau Governor’s Office, the Office of the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement and Land Areas (PUPR PKPP), the Office of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD), and several houses whose owners were not disclosed.
From all these places, investigators confiscated a number of documents and Electronic Evidence (BBE) related to shifts in the Riau Provincial Government’s budget.
The anti-corruption agency has named the Governor of Riau Abdul Wahid, Dani M. Nursalam as Abdul Wahid’s Expert, and the Head of the PUPR PKPP Service for Riau Province M. Arief Setiawan as suspects in the alleged case of extortion and/or receiving gratuities.
Abdul Wahid et al have been detained for the first 20 days until November 23 2025.
The suspects are suspected of violating Article 12 letter e and/or Article letter f and/or Article 12B of the Corruption Eradication Law (UU Tipikor) in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 1 of the Criminal Code.
The handling of this case began with Operation Hand Arrest (OTT) in early November.
