) appoints the Governor of Riau
Abdul Wahid
as a suspect in corruption related to the fee allocation for increasing the work unit budget at the Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, Settlement Areas and Land Service (PUPR PKPP).
Apart from Abdul Wahid, the Corruption Eradication Commission also named two other suspects in the name of the Head of the PUPR-PKPP Service, Muhammad Arief Setiawan, and the Expert Expert for the Governor of Riau Abdul Wahid, Dani M. Nursalam.

“After an intensive examination was carried out at the investigation stage and elements of the alleged criminal incident were found, this is a corruption crime, then this case went up to the investigation stage, and then after finding sufficient evidence, the Corruption Eradication Commission
named three people as suspects,” said KPK Deputy Chairman Johanis Tanak at his office, Wednesday (5/11).
Tanak explained that Wahid’s alleged extortion was related to the addition of the 2025 budget allocated to the UPT Roads and Bridges for Regions I-VI of the PUPR PKPP Service, which was originally IDR 71.6 billion to IDR 177.4 billion.
Wahid allegedly asked for a fee of 2.5 percent because he succeeded in increasing the budget for the UPT Roads and Bridges for Regions I-VI of the PUPR PKPP Service.
Then, said Tanak, all Heads of Regional UPTs for the PUPR PKPP Service along with the Secretary of the PUPR PKPP Riau Service met again and agreed on the amount of the fee for

by 5 percent or IDR 7 billion.
“The results of the meeting were then reported to the Head of the PUPR PKPP Riau Service using the code language ‘7 bar’,” he said.
According to Tanak, the handover was carried out in stages three times starting in June 2025, August 2025 and November 2025.
“So, the total delivery in June-November 2025 will reach IDR 4.05 billion from the initial agreement of IDR 7 billion,” he said.
Previously, the KPK arrested a total of 10 people in a silent operation related to alleged project bribery at the Riau PUPR Service, Monday (3/11).
During the OTT, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) also confiscated rupiah denominations and foreign currency worth up to IDR 1 billion.
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will present the OTT activities as well as the cases and legal status of the arrested parties at the upcoming press conference.
The name Abdul Wahid once became a source of pride for the people of Riau.He is known as a simple and hardworking figure who walked the long road from a life of deprivation until finally becoming the number one person in the province.
Born in Anak Peria Hamlet, Indragiri Hilir, on November 21 1980, Wahid grew up in a simple farming family.Since childhood, he has been used to helping his parents in the fields and gardens to make a living.
While studying at UIN Suska Riau, Tarbiyah Faculty, Wahid worked as a cleaning service and construction worker to pay for his education.
After being active in student and social organizations, he began his political career through the National Awakening Party (PKB).
Wahid succeeded in becoming a member of the Riau DPRD for the 2009-2014 and 2014-2019 periods.He became increasingly popular and decided to run as a member of the DPR in the 2019 elections.
He managed to enter the DPR from the Riau electoral district with 55,770 votes.Wahid was able to retain the Senayan seat with a significant increase in votes in the 2024 Legislative Election. He received the most votes in his constituency.
After only a few months as a member of the council, Wahid decided to run as a candidate for Governor of Riau.He was paired with S. F. Hariyanto as a candidate for Deputy Governor of Riau.They won the 2024 regional elections.
