The Curacao national team set a unique record after ensuring qualification for
2026 World Cup
by matching Jamaica in the final match of the qualifying round.
Curacao played an away match at Jamaica’s headquarters, Independence Park Stadium, in the final match of Group B of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the Concacaf zone, Wednesday (19/11).
The match ended in a 0-0 draw.The additional one point is enough for Curacao to lock in the top position in Group B with 12 points from six matches, as well as qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

, Curacao became the ‘smallest’ team to ever qualify for the World Cup.This status is taken based on population.
In its report, ESPN said that Curacao has 156,115 residents with a plain area of only 444 square kilometers.
This figure makes Curacao pass Iceland as the smallest country to ever play in the World Cup.At the 2018 World Cup, Iceland had a population of more than 350,000.
Curacao qualified for the 2026 World Cup with impressive performances.Leandro Bacuna and friends are the only team undefeated in the third round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications.
