This was confirmed by Danantara Chief Investment Officer (CIO) Pandu Sjahrir in accordance with what President Prabowo Subianto said would resolve Whoosh’s debt problem.
“(The Whoosh debt issue) has already been conveyed by the President, later for that it can come from Mr. Dony Oskaria (Chief Operating Officer of Danantara). Yes, Mr. Purbaya is the Minister of Finance, he will of course still be there,” said Pandu after the Antara Business Forum 2025 event at The Westin, South Jakarta, Wednesday (19/11).

Previously, Purbaya said he wanted to be involved in discussions regarding Whoosh’s debt restructuring with parties from China.
“I said that if they have discussions with there (China), I’ll join in, I want to see, don’t make a big loss. But we’ll see what’s best for this country, this process is still ongoing,” said Purbaya at the Ministry of Finance office, Friday (14/11).
On a different occasion, Danantara Chief Operating Officer Dony Oskaria emphasized that the government would remain involved in Whoosh’s debt restructuring.
He explained that the government’s portion was related to infrastructure, while Danantara’s portion was related to operations.
“The President has also conveyed the problem of restructuring, of course it involves the government and Danantara. Well, this is also the best solution, of course Danantara’s portion will of course be carried out by Danantara, especially regarding operations with Whoosh and there is also the government’s portion relating to infrastructure,” said Dony at the Coordinating Ministry for Food, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (11/11).
Meanwhile, Dony assesses that Whoosh’s operations will continue to have a positive impact on society and the country’s economy so that services will continue to be improved.
“So we are operationally responsible for Whoosh so that Whoosh can be more optimal in providing even better services and of course hopefully in the future it will carry even more passengers,” he added.
