which provides direct benefits to society.
This encouragement was conveyed amidst increasingly tight fiscal conditions and a projected decrease in Transfers to Regions (TKD) in 2026.

“This pattern only narrows fiscal space without making a real contribution to society,” said Wiyagus while attending the Coordination Meeting of Regional Development Planning Bodies (Bappeda) throughout Indonesia at the Rattan Inn Hotel, Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, Wednesday (3/12).
He emphasized the importance of regional government accuracy in setting budget priorities.Spending, he said, must be directed at priority programs, problem solving and measurable development targets.
That way, every rupiah spent can provide added value, be effective and have a real impact on society and regional development.
Wiyagus also reminded that government spending plays an important role in driving the economy. Therefore, he asked the regional government to optimize regional spending to strengthen people’s purchasing power and encourage household consumption, the biggest contributor to national economic growth while creating a conducive investment climate.
“We hope that all regional governments can speed up budget realization while still paying attention to allocations that are right on target,” he said.
On the same occasion, Wiyagus highlighted the natural disasters that hit Aceh, West Sumatra and North Sumatra. He hopes that this incident will be a reminder for other regional governments to be more serious about protecting and preserving the environment.
“This is a reminder for us that development must not only pursue spending targets, but must respect the environment for the safety of the people,” he added.
Furthermore, he conveyed the direction of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Muhammad Tito Karnavian for regions to remain alert and follow the instructions of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), considering that rainfall is predicted to remain high in various areas of Kalimantan and its surroundings.
