Suyudi explained that Dewi has been operating in the Golden Triangel area (Thailand, Myanmar, Laos) since 2023. Dewi, he said, also plays a role in recruiting members for narcotics trafficking networks in Asian and African countries.
“Paryatin alias Dewi couriers operate in countries including: Indonesia, Laos, Hong Kong, Korea, Brazil, Ethiopia,” he explained.
Suyudi said that the majority of those employed by Dewi were Indonesian citizens (WNI) who did not have jobs in Cambodia.
“Paryatin specifically recruits jobless Indonesian citizens in Cambodia as well as fellow couriers who are willing to join Paryatin alias Dewi,” he said.
Furthermore, he said that currently his party was still investigating the involvement of the Dewi network with drug fugitive Freddy Pratama who also operated in Indonesia-Cambodia.
“BNN is collaborating with the National Police and Customs and Excise to explore FP network operations,” he said.
