Muhadkly Acho took a new setting when working on the sequel to the third best-selling Indonesian film.If the first film was set at a night market, Agak Laen 2 is set at a nursing home.
He took this decision because he wanted to give a new image or picture to the elderly home which is often given a dark tone in many viewing projects.

“We think there has never been a comedy film in a nursing home that uses that main setting. Usually nursing homes are always portrayed as scary, dark and gloomy places,” said Acho in Jakarta, Thursday (20/11).
“This time we want to make it the brightest place in this film. So it would be fun to put the four of them in a nursing home. Looks like there will be a really comedic clash,” he added.
Rather Laen was filmed in a real nursing home, not a set.Oki Rengga and Boris Bokir as the main stars of the film talked about their experiences while filming there with their parents.

“It’s a real nursing home. Coincidentally, the nursing home has a new building and an old building. So, we used the old building,” said Oki.
“There are residents, they also like to watch (while filming), ask us questions, chat,” added Boris Bokir, one of the comic quartet, continuing Oki’s answer.
Guaranteed to stay funny
Muhadkly Acho admitted that he faced new challenges when making Agak Laen 2 as a crime investigation comedy film, different from the horror comedy featured in the first film.
Even though he takes a new setting and approach, he ensures that Rather Laen 2 is still as enjoyable as the first film.
“When writing, he thought, don’t let the comedy stand alone, the horror stand alone. So combining them is how the comedy is born from fear,” explained Acho.
“That’s why the most interesting thing is that it actually has an effect down to the shot treatment, how to visualize the scene so that it feels more intense,” he said.
“This second film will definitely be more explored than the first because our spirits are there, from the investigation and mystery,” he said, guaranteeing that the comedy of the film remains integrated with the mystery being raised.
Ernest Prakasa as producer appreciates Rather Laen: Lit My Panti!took a different approach while still ensuring the film’s comedic qualities.
“We at Imaginari too, the most exciting thing for us is making stories.”So if you stay hostage to the previous film, it seems like it will make the story less exciting,” said Ernest.
Rather Laen: Light Up My Panty!tells a new adventure for the comic quartet, Boris Bokir, Bene Dion, Indra Jegel, Oki Rengga, who this time work as detectives who always fail.
They get one last chance to prove themselves by going on an undercover mission at a mysterious nursing home.
Their mission is to hunt down a murder fugitive who is hiding among the elderly. The disguise of Bene, Boris, Jegel, and Oki in the orphanage triggers various chaos and absurd sitcoms.
Rather Laen: Nyala Pantiku also stars Ariyo Wahab, Priska Baru Segu, Boah Sartika, Chew Kin Wah, Jajang C. Noer, Jarwo Kwat, Egi Fedly, and Tissa Biani.
Rather Laen: Lit My Pantiku is showing in cinemas starting November 27.
