One member of the Riau Regional Police (Polda) died

flash floods and landslides in Padang, West Sumatra.
Two personnel from the Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Riau Regional Police became victims of the disaster in Padang, West Sumatra.The two victims, namely Brigadier Tri and Ipda Angga Mujafar.Brigadier Tri Irwansyah is reported to have died, while Ipda Angga is still being searched by the SAR Team.
“It’s true, it has been confirmed that the body of Brigadier Tri Irwansyah was found, while Ipda Angga Mujafar is still in the process of searching,” said Head of Public Relations of the Riau Police, Commissioner Anom Caribbeannto, quoted from detik, Saturday (29/11).

The two victims were trapped by flash floods and landslides at the Twin Bridge, Silaing Bawah Village, West Padang Panjang, Padang City, on Thursday (27/11) at around 11.30 WIB.
Tri’s body has been successfully evacuated and taken to the West Sumatra Police Bhayangkara Hospital for further identification.Meanwhile, Ipda Angga Mufajar is still in the process of searching and it is suspected that he was buried in landslide material and mud.
Three Riau Police personnel, consisting of two police officers and one PHL driver, were at that time on an official trip from Pekanbaru to Padang City.The vehicle they were traveling in was later found damaged and buried in mud not far from the Twin Bridge location.Until now, Ipda Angga and a driver are still declared missing.
The incident occurred when strong currents from the mountains carried large amounts of mud, stones and pieces of wood.The material carried by the landslide dragged residents and passing vehicles into the river.
The joint SAR team from Basarnas, TNI-Polri, and volunteers continued to search by combing river flows and deploying heavy equipment.However, the rainy weather that continues to pour down the area means that the search process must be carried out with great care.
