BMKG
) related to a series of natural disasters that occurred in the area recently.
In a meeting with BMKG, Haryanto did not deny the recent extreme weather issue. However, BMKG should have anticipated this with early warning.

“There have been many unexpected natural disasters in several areas, both outside Java, in Central Java, and in areas in West Java and others,” said Haryanto in a meeting, Tuesday (11/11).
“It seems that the information is a bit late, in our opinion,” he added.
He suspects that there are a number of reasons, one of which is that the existence of climate field schools (SLI) under BMKG is not running effectively. In fact, field schools should be useful so that people do not depend on official government information.
Haryanto encouraged BMKG to continue to expand the presence of field schools throughout the region.Because, according to him, currently the number of 30 schools is considered insufficient.
“If we have provisions for field schools that are expanded, then the volume is also increased, that’s different. So if that’s the number, the existing field schools that we mentioned earlier also only have 30 people [locations], yes. That’s just a limited amount of time,” he said.
Meanwhile, Head of BMKG Teuku Faisal Fathani in his report revealed a number of indicators of their performance achievements in the last three months until September 2025.
First, regarding the accuracy of information in the field of BMKG and weather modification, it reached 102 percent.Second, the satisfaction index in information services reached 99.73 percent, and public understanding of BMKG information reached 107.31 percent.
“We hope that in the last three months the achievement of performance indicators will increase even further,” said Faisal.
Meanwhile, climate field schools, said Faisal, are currently spread across 35 locations, with 1,360 participants.Meanwhile, the earthquake field school was the largest with 1,774 spread across 37 provinces, and the fishing weather field school was attended by 1,285 spread across 37 locations.
