Doctor Priguna Sentenced to 11 Years in Prison for Rape Case at RSHS Bandung

The judge handed down the verdict because Priguna was deemed guilty of raping three women at RSHS Bandung.
“On trial, it is stated that Priguna’s brother has been legally and convincingly proven to have committed a crime of sexual violence. Sentenced to a sentence of 11 years and a fine of Rp. 100 million, with the provision that if he cannot pay it, it will be replaced by a prison sentence of three months,” said Chief Judge and Chair of the Bandung District Court, Lingga Setiawan, Wednesday (5/11).

Priguna was deemed by the panel of judges to have violated Article 6 letter c in conjunction with Article 15 paragraph (1) letter b, letter e and letter j in conjunction with Article 16 paragraph (1) of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning Crimes of Sexual Violence (TPKS).
Pay compensation to the victim IDR 137 million
In addition to the main crime above, the prosecutor also demanded that the defendant pay restitution or compensation money to his three victims totaling more than IDR 137 million.
Of this amount, IDR 79,429,000 for FH victims, IDR 49,810,000 for NK victims, and IDR 8,640,000 for FPA victims.This additional penalty was imposed on the defendant based on the LPSK calculation with Number: R-3632/4.1.IP/LPSK/06/2025 dated 18 June 2025.
“So the total restitution that needs to be paid is IDR 137,879,000 (one hundred thirty-seven million eight hundred seventy-nine thousand rupiah),” said Lingga.
In reading the verdict, the judge revealed things that were incriminating about Priguna, including that Priguna’s actions disturbed the community, were committed more than once and to more than one victim, and abused his profession as a doctor for acts that violated the law.
“The mitigating factor is that he has never been involved in a legal case before, and he has admitted and regretted his actions, and has provided compensation to one of the victims,” he said.
The sentence was in accordance with the previous demands of the Public Prosecutor (JPU), namely 11 years in prison.Including the amount of fines and restitution that must be paid.
Haven’t decided on the appeal yet
Meanwhile, Priguna’s attorney, Aldi Rangga Adiputra, has not yet decided whether to appeal the judge’s decision.
“Regarding the issue, the decision, we said to think about it and we were also given 7 days. Actually, regarding the issue, the decision was not as expected. But whatever the outcome of the decision, we still appreciate and respect whatever decision is given by the Panel of Judges,” he said after the trial.
Aldi revealed in the facts of the trial that his client was known to suffer from bipolar disorder.The validity of bipolar is also proven by testimony from expert witnesses presented at previous trials.
“In accordance with the facts of the trial, our client or the accuser is indeed suffering from bipolar disorder, as per the examination of the experts present at the trial,” he said.
