Member of Commission I DPR TB Hasanuddin asked the authorities to take firm steps against government officials who were negligent and allowed their existence
airport
without state apparatus in the PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) industrial complex,
Morowali
, Central Sulawesi.
“Investigate and take action against all officials and other parties who allow the ‘stealth’ airport in Morowali to operate without state control,” said Hasanuddin in his statement, Thursday (27/11).
He assessed that the alleged ‘stealth’ operation of the airport without the involvement of state officials, such as customs and immigration, was a serious problem because it had the potential to violate the law.

In fact, said Hasanuddin, this ‘stealth’ airport not only violates the legal aspect, but also concerns the security and sovereignty of the country.
“If it is true that the airport has been operating for years without Customs and Immigration supervision, potentially even violating aviation regulations, this is a big problem,” he said.
Hasanuddin explained that every airport facility, including special airports owned by companies, must comply with Law Number 1 of 2009 concerning Aviation, as well as all regulations related to security and state supervision.According to him, airports are vital national objects, and therefore must always be under state control.
“No private party should run aviation facilities as if they were private territory without supervision by the authorities,” he said.
Hasanuddin added that the existence of Customs, Immigration and aviation authorities is mandatory, not an option. He said every movement of people and goods by air must be recorded, monitored and controlled by the state.
“Otherwise, this opens up a gap for various threats of smuggling, uncontrolled movement of people, and potential threats to national security,” he said.
IMIP has raised its voice.PT IMIP Media Relations Dedi Kurniawan stated that IMIP’s special airport is registered with the Ministry of Transportation, whose management is regulated by Law No. 1/2009 concerning Aviation.
“Regarding this, we advise media partners to confirm this with the Makassar Region 5 Airport Authority Agency as the supervisor of IMIP airport operations,” said Dedi when contacted.
He added that IMIP’s special airport status could be accessed publicly on the official website of the Ministry of Transportation.
Quoting the official website of the Directorate General of Transportation, Ministry of Transportation, the airport is registered with the official name Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), which is located on Jl.Trans Sulawesi, Fatufia.
