As many as seven of the eight factions agreed that the bill would immediately be passed into law.Only the Democratic Party faction was absent because they were not present at the first-level decision-making meeting.

“Of the eight factions, seven factions stated that they agree with the views of their mini-fractions. And this is still a quorum. And after we have jointly listened to the views of the mini-fractions, then we ask for approval from the meeting whether the results of the drafting of the Bill on BPIP can be processed further in accordance with statutory regulations?”Said the Chair of the BPIP Bill Working Committee, Sturman Panjaitan, Monday (1/12).
“Agreed,” answered the meeting participants in unison.
Of the seven factions that gave approval, two factions agreed with notes.The two are the PAN and PKS factions.
Sturman explained that there are five substances in the BPIP Bill.First, the BPIP Bill consists of 7 chapters and 18 articles, covering general provisions, institutions, implementation of Pancasila ideology development, supervision and evaluation of Pancasila ideology development, community participation, funding, and closing provisions.
Second, the BPIP Bill is now the legal umbrella for the same institution.Initially, BPIP was formed based on Presidential Decree Number 7 of 2018.
“Through this law, BPIP was formed based on the law so that BPIP’s existence is stronger and will not be easily shaken by the five-year political cycle,” said Sturman.
Third, the BPIP Bill regulates institutional elements and structures, starting from tasks, functions and objectives.Fourth, the BPIP Bill regulates the implementation of Pancasila ideology development, including supervision and evaluation.
Fifth, the BPIP Bill mandates that delegation be regulated in government regulations, related to the implementation of Pancasila ideology development.
“This is the substance of the material regulated in the Bill on BPIP. The complete draft of the Bill is as submitted to Ladies and Gentlemen and members whom I respect and am proud of,” he said.
After being passed at level one, the BPIP Bill will be brought to the nearest plenary to be ratified into law.The DPR will hold its final plenary session to close the session on Tuesday (9/12).
