DPR Member Comments on Corruption Eradication Commission Returning Rp. 883 Billion in Corruption Profits

According to Lallo, the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK)’s move to return IDR 883 billion worth of money stolen from the corruption case to PT Taspen was the right step.He hopes that this step will restore public trust in the anti-corruption agency.
“The public needs real evidence. When the Corruption Eradication Committee openly shows the confiscated money, public trust in law enforcement will increase,” said Lallo in his statement, Friday (21/11).

The NasDem Party politician even pushed for a similar method to become the standard for resolving corruption cases.He praised this method as effective public communication.Because that way, the public knows that the process of returning assets is actually carried out.
“This is an important step and must be the standard in resolving every corruption case,” he said.
Lallo added that his party would continue to support the KPK in strengthening the recovery of assets resulting from corruption and ensuring that state funds return to their proper place.
“Asset recovery is an important part of eradicating corruption. We hope that the Corruption Eradication Commission will continue to strengthen this function so that corruption cases do not only stop at prosecution, but also recover state losses,” he said.
The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) handed over state confiscated assets worth IDR 883,038,394,268 to PT Taspen (Persero) as an effort to recover state money losses on Thursday (20/11).
In a press conference at the KPK’s Red and White building, Thursday (20/11), the KPK showed off IDR 300 billion of the total IDR 883 billion.
The confiscated assets handed over were Insight Tunas Bangsa Balanced Fund 2 (I-Next G2) Mutual Fund Participation Units, an investment instrument in the form of ownership of mutual fund units which was previously purchased using funds involved in a corruption case and then confiscated by the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) as state confiscation.
This handover was carried out in a case in the name of the convicted President Director of PT Insight Investment Management, Ekiawan Heri Primaryanto, who had been sentenced to a basic sentence of 9 years in the form of a corporal sentence and a fine of Rp. 500 million, subsidiary of 6 months, by the Central Jakarta Corruption Court.
