M. Taufik Zoelkifli said there were plans to reduce the subsidy budget
transportation
or public service obligation (PSO) in the 2026 APBD draft.
He explained that the reduction was the result of cuts in transfer funds from the central government to Jakarta which included profit sharing funds (DBH) of around IDR 15 trillion.
“Commission B, where the partner is transportation which gets PSO, is Transjakarta, MRT and LRT. We ended up cutting it, so we reduced the budget for subsidies to public transportation,” said Taufik at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Tuesday (4/11).

However, Taufik cannot confirm how much the transportation subsidy budget will be reduced.So far, PSO subsidies have been given to Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta and LRT Jakarta.
He only explained that a certain amount of the budget taken from the reduction in transportation subsidies would be used for other community needs.
“We cut it for other activities, for example food security, then for MSMEs, etc.,” said Taufik.
Along with the reduction in subsidies, Taufik said that the DKI DPRD and Provincial Government are still waiting for a study to increase Transjakarta fares.
There has been an increase in Transjakarta fares recently.
“We will also first look at the study of ability to pay, people’s ability to pay, and willingness to pay, willingness. So if the study is complete, then we will increase it,” he said.
Previously, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung said that the Provincial Government was finalizing the amount of the Transjakarta fare increase.
He explained that the subsidy burden borne by the Provincial Government for each ticket was IDR 9,700 per ticket.According to him, subsidies of this size are too heavy if they continue.Moreover, DKI’s profit sharing funds (DBH) were cut.
“Actually, even at the old tariff, we subsidized how much per ticket, IDR 9,700. It would be too heavy if it continued like that, especially if the DBH was cut. So for that we will make adjustments,” said Pramono last week.
