A male student at State Elementary School (SDN) 108 Pekanbaru, Riau, with the initials MAR, reportedly died as a result of experiencing a series of bullying (
bullying
) at school.
The Pekanbaru Education Service (Disdik), Riau Province, is investigating alleged bullying at the school.

“We have received the information, we will conclude it later. We cannot convey the conclusions now, because there are several pieces of information that we need to add,” said Acting Head of the Pekanbaru City Education Department, Masykur Tarmizi, Monday (24/11), after a closed meeting with a number of parties at SDN 108 Pekanbaru.
At the meeting the principal and teachers of SDN 108 Pekanbaru were present.There are also parents from MAR.The meeting lasted for two hours.
According to him, at school there is a Violence Prevention and Handling Task Force (TPPK) which does not remain silent when watching acts of bullying.He said that the TPPK Task Force at schools had served in accordance with its authority and function.
However, Masykur cannot yet confirm what kind of alleged bullying the victim received until he died.He also couldn’t say much about the sanctions that would be given to parties suspected of being involved in the bullying.
“At the moment we haven’t gotten there yet, we have just received information from the parties, we don’t want confusing information. We still can’t conclude that yet,” he said.
He admitted that he received a lot of suggestions and input during the meeting process with parents, school officials and the school committee.The meeting was an evaluation of the future in the education process in Pekanbaru City.
MAR was reported to have died in the early hours of Sunday (23/11).The parents said their child had been in care since the incident allegedly occurred on November 13.
