Evandra Florasta apologized after
U-17 Indonesian National Team
lost 1-3 to Zambia in the first match of the 2025 U-17 World Cup at Field 7 Aspire Zone, Tuesday (4/11).
Indonesia took a 1-0 lead over Zambia in that match through a goal scored by Zahaby Gholy in the 12th minute.
However, Zambia was able to reverse their lead before halftime thanks to two goals from Abel Nyirongo and Lukonde Mwale.

After the match, Evandra opened up about Garuda Asia’s defeat to Zambia.According to Evandra, Indonesia lacked focus in this match.
“The match was quite dramatic. Previously we had anticipated attacks from Zambia. Maybe we were less focused in the middle of the match and were already ahead,” said Evandra, quoted by Antara.
“Perhaps I myself and the team apologize for not being able to maintain their lead in the first half,” added Evandra.
The performance of Nova Arianto’s team was better in the second half.Indonesia dared to duel with Zambia, but could not score additional goals.
Indonesia lost points on the first matchday of the 2025 U-17 World Cup. In Group H standings, the U-17 national team is ranked third behind Brazil and Zambia.
“Coach Nova in the dressing room said, it’s useless if we have prepared tactics, prepared our attack method, but we are not brave and not confident. Coach Nova asked us to be more confident in the second half and not be afraid of making mistakes,” said Evandra.
