The composition of the members reflects the current configuration of six members in the promotion of the EXO group, as reported by the Korea Times on Tuesday (25/11).
EXO previously told fans that they were preparing their eighth studio album for release in the first quarter of 2026.
The announcement attracted attention because it confirmed that only six members, namely Suho, Chanyeol, D.O., Kai, Sehun, and Lay would participate.CBX, active under independent label INB100, is not included in the list.

The six-member fan meeting, EXO’verse, will take place twice in mid-December 2025 at Inspire Arena, Incheon. The event marked the group’s first large-scale fan event in nearly two years since their 12th anniversary celebration.
The event is said to feature hit songs, including their winter classics, such as First Snow, as well as new musical performances.
The fan meetings were sold out for both events during pre-sale, reaffirming EXO’s unwavering power at the ticket window and signaling a smooth road to their scheduled comeback.
Attention is increasing after news spread that the members will also appear together on various variety programs.
Although Suho, Kai, Chanyeol, and Sehun remain under SM Entertainment, D.O., who has his own independent label, and Lay, who left the group early to continue activities in China, will also participate.
However, CBX is not included. The three members filed a lawsuit against SM in 2023, claiming the agency failed to provide settlement records and implemented an unfair contract.
Both parties ultimately agreed to maintain an exclusive contract while letting CBX’s individual activities be managed by INB100.
However, disputes over the terms of the contract continued, and CBX lost most of their legal battles.
INB100 said last month that it had “accepted all the terms proposed by SM and clearly expressed its intention to reach a settlement,” expressing a desire for the three to participate in EXO’s activities full-time.
SM denied this and emphasized resolving the legal conflict and returning to group activities were “separate matters.”They said the trust between CBX and the other EXO members has been damaged, making joint promotions impossible at this time.
“The three members should first implement the existing agreement and work sincerely to restore trust,” said SM.
They emphasized that the company will “fully support and focus on EXO’s activities starting December” as a six-member unit.
INB100 responded by saying that the three will continue to respect previous agreements and make “every effort” to restore trust with the members and reach a peace agreement with SM.
The label again expressed its desire to join the group’s promotions, but EXO’s first step remains as a comeback with six members.
