Malaysian national team coach Nafuzi Zain doesn’t want to blame his players after failing to reach the final
SEA Games 2025
after losing 0-1 to Thailand in the semifinals at Rajamangala Stadium, Monday (15/12).
Thailand’s only goal was scored by Yotsakorn Burapha in the eighth minute.The goal was enough to make Malaysia panic so they made a mistake with a foul which resulted in a second yellow card for Nabil Yusuf in the 16th minute.
Nafuzi Zain said that losing one player made Malaysia’s game tactics change.Even so, he didn’t want to blame the players for playing with 10 people against Thailand.

“Playing with 10 players against a team like Thailand is not easy. But in terms of organization and commitment, I am very satisfied. The players did not give up and continued to fight until the final whistle sounded,” said Nafuzi Zain, quoted from

Nafuzi was satisfied with the performance of his team when facing a strong Thai team which was considered more experienced.
“We faced a more mature and experienced team. However, what the players showed today was very positive character. Mistakes can be corrected, but an attitude of not giving up easily is an important foundation for the future,” said Nafuzi.
Nafuzi then hopes that the Young Tigers can bounce back to prepare for the bronze medal match against the Philippines, Thursday (18/12).
Malaysia is expected to bring home a medal from the 2025 SEA Games football branch after failing to get a medal in the three previous SEA Games.
