Penjaringan Metro Police Chief, AKBP Agus Ady Wijaya, explained that in his action the perpetrator pretended to be a member of the Narcotics Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya and was carrying out a case disclosure.
“The perpetrator stopped the victim, who works as an online motorcycle taxi driver, then asked him to take him to the Kalijodo area on the pretext of making an arrest in a drug case,” said Agus in his statement, Thursday (6/11).

“To convince the victim, the perpetrator even showed a fake National Police identity card and brought an airsoft gun,” he continued.
Upon arrival at the location, the perpetrator borrowed the victim’s motorbike and cell phone on the pretext of chasing drug offenders.However, after that the perpetrator ran away and did not return.
The victim who felt cheated immediately reported the incident to the Penjaringan Metro Police.After investigation, the perpetrator was arrested in the Penjaringan area on Sunday (2/11).
During the arrest, the police also confiscated evidence in the form of a motorbike, an airsoft gun, a fake National Police Membership Identification Card (KTA) and a methamphetamine suction device.
Based on a urine examination, the perpetrator was also proven positive for consuming amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Apart from that, the results of the investigation also revealed that the perpetrator was a recidivist in cases of motor vehicle fraud and embezzlement in 2020 in the Kalideres and Cengkareng areas.
“The perpetrator admitted that he had carried out similar actions four times in the Penjaringan area. Two motorbikes resulting from the crime had previously been sold to someone with the initials F who is now on the wanted list (DPO),” said Agus.
Agus said the perpetrator and evidence had been secured at the Penjaringan Metro Police for further investigation.
His party is also carrying out developments to hunt down fellow perpetrators who were involved in selling the proceeds of this crime.
“We urge the public to remain alert to individuals claiming to be members of the National Police. If there is any suspicious action, immediately report it to the nearest police station,” he said.
