) intends to continue the case of alleged falsification of their naturalization player documents to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (
CAS
) after the appeal was rejected

FAM stated that they would continue to fight for players’ rights to CAS after their appeal was officially rejected by FIFA, Monday (3/11).
FAM President Datuk Wira Mohd Yusoff Haji Mahadi confirmed that he would write to FIFA to obtain details of the results of the official decision from the Appeals Committee.

The explanation of the Appeal Committee’s decision will be a reference for the FAM lawyer and management team to submit an appeal to CAS.
“This is the first time FAM has faced a situation like this, and our lawyers and management are very surprised by the decision,” said Wira Mohd Yusoff Haji Mahadi.
“However, FAM will continue to fight for the rights of the players and the interests of Malaysian football at the international level,” said the FAM President.
FIFA officially announced that it rejected FAM’s appeal regarding the scandal regarding the seven naturalized players of Harimau Malaya.
“After analyzing the appeal submission and conducting a hearing, the Appeals Committee decided to reject the appeal,” said the official statement from the FIFA Appeals Committee, Monday (3/11).
The FIFA Appeals Committee also confirmed that the penalties for FAM and seven naturalized players who were deemed to have falsified documents had not changed.
Previously, FIFA sentenced seven naturalized Malaysian national team players to a fine of 2,000 CHF (equivalent to Rp. 41.8 million) and a 12-month playing ban.
The seven players punished were Gabriel Felipe Arrocha, Facundo Tomas Garces, Rodrigo Julian Holgado, Imanol Javier Machuca, Joao Vitor Brandao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal Iraurgui, and Hector Alejandro Hevel Serrano.
Apart from that, FIFA imposed a fine of 350 thousand CHF (equivalent to IDR 7.3 billion) for FAM who was deemed guilty of carrying out the naturalization process outside of regulations.
FIFA invites FAM to submit an appeal to CAS within 21 days after the results of the FIFA Appeals Committee decision are announced.
