Rob Reiner
and his wife, Michele Singer, were found dead at their home in Brentwood, Los Angeles, United States, on Sunday (14/12) afternoon local time.
Rob died at the age of 78 years, while Michele died at the age of 68 years.The actor and director’s death is currently being investigated by the LAPD as a homicide.The couple reportedly died as a result of being stabbed.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are deeply saddened by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this very difficult time,” the family said in a statement as reported

said a source said the couple, who had been married since 1989, was found lying in their house.
Sources also said the couple’s son, 32-year-old Nick Reiner who works as a screenwriter, was suspected as a suspect in the incident.Sources said the tool allegedly used in the incident was a knife.
The New York Post said that in 2016 Nick opened up about his problems in overcoming drug addiction and being homeless.
“I’ve been homeless in Maine. I’ve been homeless in New Jersey. I’ve been homeless in Texas,” Nick Reiner said.
“I spent nights on the streets. I spent weeks on the streets. It wasn’t fun,” he told People at the time.
LAPD Chief of Detectives Alan Hamilton said that currently they are still in the process of obtaining a search warrant to investigate this case more thoroughly.
Hamilton assured Brentwood residents that they were safe, but said the suspect in the murder case had not been arrested.
Rob Reiner was born on March 6, 1947 in the Bronx, New York.He was the son of one of the most famous comedy writers and stars of his time.
Reiner grew up in Hollywood and graduated from UCLA Film School.He began his career as an actor with small roles in a number of television shows, such as Batman, That Girl, or The Beverly Hillbillies.
However, his name only became widely known after playing Mike Meathead Stivic in the sitcom All in the Family in the ’70s and earning him two Emmy Awards.
Apart from that, he was also involved in acting in a number of films, such as Throw Momma from the Train (1987), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), Bullets Over Broadway (1994), The First Wives Club (1996), Primary Colors (1998), EDtv (1999), Everyone’s Hero (2006), and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013).

Rob Reiner began directing by working on the mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap (1984) and received praise for the romantic comedy The Sure Thing (1985), then the coming of age drama Stand by Me (1986), the fantasy adventure The Princess Bride (1987), the romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally… (1989), and the psychological horror thriller Misery (1990).
However, Reiner’s work, A Few Good Men (1992) managed to get a Best Picture nomination at the Academy Awards.Apart from that, his work, The American President (1995) is also considered one of the best American romantic films.
Rob Reiner first married actress Penny Marshall in 1971. They adopted Marshall’s daughter, actress Tracy Reiner.But Reiner and Marshall divorced in 1981.
Rob Reiner then married photographer Michele Singer in 1989. They have three children, two sons, Jake and Nick, and a daughter named Romy.
