After eight years of dominating the hybrid game console market, Nintendo is now starting to move away from its old consoles.In its latest financial report, the company confirmed that its main focus is now shifting to the Nintendo Switch 2.

This shift in focus marks Nintendo’s strategic step in maintaining its position in the increasingly competitive gaming industry.
“Going forward, we will shift our main development focus to Nintendo Switch 2 and expand our business around this new platform,” the company said in a statement, Wednesday (6/11), reported

The first generation of Switch isn’t coming to an end soon, but the process has begun.This process was marked by fewer games being launched for the console.
Currently, Nintendo states that it will continue to sell Switch devices by considering market and consumer demand.Additionally, several major games for the Switch are still in development.
Since its launch in June, more than 10.36 million Switch 2 consoles have been sold, with 84 percent of them purchased by users switching from the original Switch console.
This figure is only a fraction of the Switch’s lifetime sales, which reached 154.01 million units, but Nintendo claims they are seeing a consistent shift to the new platform.
Nintendo has a long and storied track record of reinventing the wheel for consoles and games, and the Switch has been one of its most successful products to date.When it was first launched in 2017, this product took the world by storm mainly because of its portability.
At a time when major rivals such as Playstation and Xbox were developing stationary consoles with increasingly impressive graphics and processing power, Nintendo chose another route.
The Switch can be used as a console for your television at home, and is also easy to take with you when traveling.
While its graphical performance is significantly lower than rivals from Sony and Microsoft, consumers don’t mind thanks to its many entertaining and often family-friendly games.
Over the past seven years, not much has changed in terms of Switch development with three different models currently available.
There’s the Nintendo Switch OLED and its rich, immersive screen;The standard Nintendo Switch with its tried-and-true hybrid design;and the cheaper, smaller Nintendo Switch Lite for those playing on the go.
