Following the Criminal Procedure Code (

) passed just last month, the Criminal Adjustments Bill is one step closer to becoming law.
This happened after the plenary meeting of Commission III of the DPR and the government agreed that the Criminal Adjustment Bill would immediately be brought to a plenary session to be passed into law.

In the plenary meeting at Commission III of the DPR, eight or all factions agreed that the bill should be passed immediately.Likewise, the government represented by Deputy Minister of Law Edward Sharif Omar Hiariej.
“We ask for approval from each faction member present here that the second level discussion in the plenary session be approved as law?”Said the Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR, Dede Indra Permana, asking for approval from the meeting participants, Tuesday (2/12).
“Agreed,” agreed the meeting participants.
Substance of the Criminal Adjustment Bill
Meanwhile, in his presentation, Eddy said that the Criminal Adjustment Bill contained three substantive points.
First, the bill regulates criminal adjustments that are not regulated in the Criminal Code.
This includes the abolition of imprisonment, adjustments to fine categories, and restructuring of criminal threats to comply with the Criminal Code.
Second, the Criminal Adjustment Bill regulates criminal adjustments to regional government regulations which limit punishment to only fines.This bill also eliminates imprisonment in regional regulations.
Third, the Criminal Adjustment Bill perfects the provisions regulated by the Criminal Code.
“In the end, we on behalf of the President agreed and welcomed and expressed our highest appreciation for the Criminal Adjustment Bill,” said Eddy.
