Praswad said the practice was an acute disease that damaged the business climate and burdening the industrial world.
According to him, the incident was not the first time it happened.The KPK, he explained, previously also exposed cases of alleged extortion of foreign workers (TKA) and / or reception of gratification.
The mode is often under the guise of “acceleration fees” or “consulting costs” that are forced, where companies feel they have no other choice if they want their affairs smoothly.
“I need to say that the mode of extortion and illegal levies in the management of licensing and certification including K3 certification is not new in corruption practices in Indonesia,” he said.
Praswad who is the Chairperson of the Southeast Asia Anti-Corruption Syndicate (Sea Actions) added brokering practices and extortion actually occurred at a very high level, namely in the ranks of the leadership of the ministry who should be the front guard in protecting the rights and safety of workers.

Praswad who once handled a corruption case of social assistance for former Social Minister Juliari Peter Batubara reminded the real test was post-OTT.

The KPK arrested Immanuel Ebenezer along with 10 other people in OTT in Jakarta on Thursday (8/21) morning.The KPK also seized dozens of vehicles and motorbikes and billions of rupiah in the quiet operation.
A number of people who were netted by the OTT were already in the KPK’s Red and White Building and an intensive request for information was being carried out.
Based on the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the KPK has 1×24 hours to determine the legal status of the parties caught red-handed.
The KPK will convey the chronology of capture hands and complete construction of the case in the upcoming press conference.
