South Africa
while attending the Indonesia-Africa CEO Forum in Johannesburg, Friday (21/11) local time.
In the forum held by the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Gibran conveyed warm greetings from President Prabowo Subianto to dozens of South African businessmen.Even though he only arrived about an hour before the event started, he admitted that he was still enthusiastic about joining his first agenda in Africa.

Speaking in English, Gibran emphasized that the forum was a big step in strengthening Indonesia-South Africa economic relations.He considered close collaboration between developing countries to be the key to building fairer and more inclusive global growth.
“With collaboration, developing economic countries can shape the future. Global growth must not only be strong but also fair and inclusive,” said Gibran.
Gibran emphasized that Indonesia is committed to expanding foreign investment in South Africa.According to him, the country is a strategic partner as well as Indonesia’s gateway to accessing the vast African market.
On the other hand, Indonesia offers industrial capacity, quality human resources, manufacturing networks, technological developments, and access to the ASEAN market.
He also opened a direct communication space for South African business actors who want to explore further investment and cooperation.
“I want to emphasize our commitment to increasing investment and economic cooperation with Africa. So, if you have any questions, please let us know,” he said.
During the visit, Gibran was accompanied by a number of Red and White Cabinet officials, including Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Nasir, and General Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Anindya Bakrie.
