Two Indonesian badminton legends,
Hendra Setiawan
and
Greysia Polii
, created a sports equipment shop business collaboration entitled Gold Medal.
Gold Medal was founded by Hendra and Greysia with the support of Victor who is their apparel sponsor.In the shop they created and is located in Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, visitors can feel the atmosphere of the victories that Greysia and Hendra have achieved.
When visitors enter the shop, they can listen to the story of Hendra and Greysia’s journey.Hendra’s story is displayed on the left while Greysia’s traces are on the right.Going up to the second floor, visitors can see the latest collections of badminton equipment for sale.

“We took the name Gold Medal because Greysia once won the Olympics in Tokyo, while I won in Beijing,” said Hendra.
“We want to offer experience. When you come here, you can be inspired. They can see that we wouldn’t be this big without struggle and support,” said Greysia.
The idea for this collaboration came from Greysia.Greysia invited Hendra who apparently also thought the same way.
“Greysia invited me but at that time I also had the same thought,” said Hendra.
“We have one goal in opening this. Grays is also a detailed person. I think to do business you need people who can be detailed in managing things,” he added.
Meanwhile, Greysia admits that Hendra has long been an inspiration for her.Greysia even felt this before Hendra became a world class player.
Greysia, who was 13 years old at that time, was paired with Hendra, who was three years older.
“I took his winning aura from Koh Hendra. When Koh Hendra won the 2008 Olympics, it was an inspiration for us. In the end, in 2021, I can also become an Olympic champion,” said Greysia.
