Head of the Attorney General’s Legal Information Center, Anang Supriatna, said that the land was previously controlled by PT Bumi Morowali Utara (BMU) to carry out mining without a permit.

“The PKH Task Force Team carried out clarification and regained control by the state of PT BMU,” he said in a written statement, Wednesday (5/11).
He explained that PT BMU had a mine opening area that entered the forest area without a lease-to-use forest area permit (IPPKH) or without approval to use the forest area (PPKH).
The mine opening area, he said, is in areas inside and outside the Mining Business Permit (IUP) production operation area, which totals around 66.01 hectares.
In the clarification process, Anang said that the forest area not equipped with IPPKH/PPKH reached 62.5 hectares.The details consist of 46 hectares within the IUP area and 15 hectares outside the IUP area.
“During this activity, it was discovered that there were openings in forest areas that were not equipped with IPPKH/PPKH covering an area of ​​62.15 hectares,” added Anang.
Furthermore, Anang said that from the results of the inspection, the company carrying out illegal mining operations could potentially be fined IDR 2.35 trillion.
“From this data, there is a potential fine of IDR 2,350,280,980,761,” he concluded.
It is known that a total of 9 companies have been validated as violating or entering forest areas.These companies include PT Bumi Morowali Utara (BMU) to PT Daya Sumber Mining Indonesia (DSMI).
So far, the total areas identified and re-controlled by the state throughout Indonesia include Southeast Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan and Bangka Belitung.
