who was arrested in a silent operation on Monday (3/11).This arrest is the sixth OTT held by the KPK throughout 2025.
The KPK arrested 10 people in an operation in Riau, including Abdul Wahid.A sum of money was also confiscated as evidence.The arrest is suspected to be related to a project at the Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Department of Riau Province.
“Of the 10 people, most of them are state officials. We will soon announce the results of the examination and their legal status,” said KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo in Jakarta, Monday (3/11).

Abdul Wahid’s name is widely known in Riau as a simple figure who worked his way up in politics from the bottom.Born in Anak Peria Hamlet, Indragiri Hilir Regency, on November 21 1980, he is the third of six children in a farming family.
Since childhood, Wahid has been accustomed to living in simplicity.To help support the family’s economy, he often works in the residents’ rice fields and gardens.
While studying at UIN Suska Riau, Tarbiyah Faculty, majoring in Islamic Religious Education, he continued to fight hard so as not to become a burden on his family.
While studying, Abdul Wahid worked as

on campus.He also worked as a construction worker just to be able to pay for college fees and daily living needs.
This life’s journey full of struggle shaped Wahid’s persistent character.He grew into a figure who was known to be humble, close to the common people, and active in various social activities and student organizations.
Political career took off
From a campus activist environment, Wahid took the political path through the National Awakening Party (PKB).He was elected as a member of the DPR RI in the 2019 elections. From the Senayan seat, he became one of 13 people’s representatives from Riau who sat in parliament.
While in the DPR RI, Wahid was known to be vocal in fighting for the aspirations of the people of Riau, especially in the infrastructure development and education sectors.
He is also trusted to hold a strategic role as leader of the DPR RI Legislative Body, a position that shows recognition of his political capacity.
In the 2024 election, Abdul Wahid ran again from PKB and succeeded in retaining his seat.Not only that, he received the most votes among all candidates for DPR RI members in the Riau electoral district.
His high popularity in Riau led Wahid to the seat of Governor of Riau for the 2025-2030 period.He was inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto on February 20 2025 at the State Palace.
His humble character and background from a common man’s background earned him the nickname “a successful regional child.”He became a new hope for the people of Riau.
Assets IDR 4.8 billion
Abdul Wahid was recorded as having assets of up to IDR 4.8 billion, based on a report to the Corruption Eradication Committee on March 31 2024, while still serving as a member of the DPR RI PKB faction.
Based on data from the State Administrator’s Wealth Report (LHKPN), Wahid owns 12 plots of land and buildings worth IDR 4.9 billion spread across Pekanbaru, Kampar, Indragiri Hilir, to South Jakarta.
He also reported ownership of two cars, namely a Toyota Fortuner and a Mitsubishi Pajero, with a total value of IDR 780 million.Apart from that, Wahid recorded cash and cash equivalents of IDR 621 million and debts of IDR 1.5 billion.
Wahid’s wealth increased by around IDR 750 million compared to the previous year’s report which was recorded at IDR 4.05 billion.

Abdul Wahid’s arrest was a slap in the face of the Riau public.A figure who was once celebrated for his simplicity now has to face accusations of corruption, an irony that has shaken the image of public officials.
“Congratulations to Governor Abdul Wahid, hopefully he will be trusted to lead this country,” wrote a resident on social media some time after his inauguration.
“Indeed, only Allah SWT determines soul mate, meeting, fortune and position.”
