reveals his hopes ahead of the match against Saudi Arabia in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
The Indonesian national team will have a crucial match against Saudi Arabia in the first match of Group B of the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifications in the Asian zone.
This hot Indonesia vs Saudi Arabia duel will be held at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium, Jeddah, Thursday (9/10) early morning at 00.15 WIB.

Maarten Paes asked all parties to unite to support the Garuda squad’s struggle to reach the 2026 World Cup finals.
“This will be a beautiful match. There is a lot at stake and we all know how important it is and I think the key is that we need to stay together, unite as a country, as a team, and fight for each other,” said Maarten Paes on the Indonesian National Team YouTube.
“I think that’s always been a winning recipe with this team and we continue to start doing that and then I believe everything will speak for itself,” added Paes.
The FC Dallas player believes that the Indonesian players are determined to finish the struggle with a sweet result in Saudi Arabia.
“I have good hopes of course. We are all very proud that we are in this situation. First and foremost I think there is great progress that has been made over the last few years. It has been the right process and now it is time to reward ourselves in the process.”
“This has been a beautiful journey for me for a year. For some players it may have been several years of course, but yes in the end we all want to make our country proud and we want to celebrate the end of two matches by achieving something that has never been done before,” Paes said.
Apart from that, Paes also did not forget to thank the Garuda fans who have always loyally supported their favorite team.
“And, we all get goosebumps when we think about this but now it’s time to finish the job. For Garuda fans, thank you for being with us in ups and downs. Let’s work hard together, let’s unite to be positive together with everyone and stay united as one big family,” concluded Paes.
