Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School spokesperson KH Oing Abdul Muid Shohib or Gus Muid said their two main caregivers had given the green light and blessing.
“With the knowledge and blessing of the caregivers, namely KH Anwar Manshur and KH Kafabihi Mahrus, Lirboyo is willing to be the host. Yes, this is based on concern about the current condition of NU,” said Gus Muid when confirmed, Monday (24/11).

However, he does not yet know the exact time when the meeting will be held.
“Well, if there is an agreement, please schedule it. We are ready to host it,” he said.
Gus Muid explained that there were two conditions put forward by his party as host.First, the meeting must be attended by PBNU officials who are in conflict.
“Lirboyo is willing to be the host. If the meeting is attended by both parties,” he said.
He was reluctant to say who the two parties he was referring to were.According to him, the public now knows who the internal conflict between PBNU is.
The second condition is that the meeting must also invite older kiai, who are members of the PBNU Syuriyah ranks, including Islamic boarding school caretakers.
“Yes, of course, perhaps what Gus Atho means is Syuriyah or the older kiai who are administrators of the Islamic boarding school. After all, the owner in quotation marks is NU, Ashabul Ma’had, the Islamic boarding school administrator,” he said.
The plan for the meeting was previously revealed by PBNU Chairman Yahya Cholil Staquf or Gus Yahya.
Yahya hopes that the meeting can open a way out of the internal conflict in PBNU.
“God willing, later a wider meeting will be held featuring more senior kiai and also leadership elements within the Nahdlatul Ulama environment which will be hosted by the Lirboyo Islamic boarding school in Kediri,” said Yahya some time ago.
The conflict within PBNU was revealed after the minutes of PBNU’s daily Syuriah meeting were circulated, deciding that Yahya Cholil Staquf had to resign as Chairman of PBNU within three days of receiving the minutes.If he does not resign within that deadline, Syariah will dismiss him.
The minutes were signed by Rais Aam PBNU Miftachul Akhyar, decided at a meeting attended by 37 Syariah Daily Administrators at the Aston City Hotel Jakarta on November 20 2025.
Based on the minutes, the pressure to resign was related to the invitation of speakers from the international Zionist network at the Nahdlatul Ulama National Leadership Academy (AKN NU) which was deemed to violate the values and teachings of Ahlussunnah wal Jamaah An Nahdliyah and was contrary to the Muqaddimah Qanun Asasi Nahdlatul Ulama.
Meanwhile, Yahya emphasized that he would not resign from his position as General Chair of PBNU.
According to Yahya, the PBNU Syuriyah daily meeting does not have the right to dismiss mandataries.
“Syariah daily meetings do not have legal standing, because daily syariah meetings have no right, no right to dismiss mandataries, that is the problem,” said Yahya after the Alim Ulama Gathering at the PBNU Office, Sunday (23/11).
