) admitted that there would be no problem if the implementation of the organization’s congress was accelerated.
However, he believes that the implementation of the congress should be led by himself as General Chair together with Rais Aam PBNU.

“The congress wants to be fast, it wants to be slow, there are no problems, but conditions must be met. Namely that the congress is chaired by Rais Aam and the General Chair,” he said after a coordination meeting at the PBNU building, Jakarta, Thursday (11/12).
Gus Yahya said that the congress could not be held by one party.According to him, the congress will later become problematic.
“So if it’s just one, it’s impossible to implement. That’s why, as I’ve said all along, never mind that the congress will be problematic, the congress will be imperfect,” he said.
“Yes, let’s just be together, then we will prepare for the congress together. If you want to come quickly, if you want it tomorrow morning, that’s fine. Let’s come to the conference tomorrow morning too. The important thing is that this conference is correct. The main thing is not to weigh what is flawed or less than perfect,” continued Gus Yahya.
Regarding communication with the Zulfa Mustofa camp, Gus Yahya said there had been no communication with Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Akhyar since the Syuriyah Plenary Meeting at the Sultan Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (9/12) evening.
“There hasn’t been any since the meeting at the Sultan Hotel. There has been no communication to us, until now,” he said.
Previously, in a plenary session at the Sultn Hotel, initiated by Syuriah, PBNU decided to remove Gus Yahya as general chairman, and appointed KH Zulfa Mustofa as acting (Pj) PBNU general chairman.
Gus Yahya admitted that before the plenary meeting at the Sultan’s hotel, he had sent a messenger to communicate.However, he claimed, there was no response from Rais Aam PBNU.
“But it already existed before, so we sent a messenger to actually communicate with Rais Aam, but there have been no results,” he said.
“Before that, I myself had even met Rais Aam’s representative, KH Afifuddin Muhazir, because before I told him yesterday I had asked Rais Aam for time but he had not answered,” he explained.
Congress before Eid al-Adha next year
Previously, Rais Syuriyah PBNU Mohammad Nuh stated that his party would immediately hold a meeting to determine the schedule for the Congress to definitively elect a general chairman before or near the upcoming Eid al-Adha 2026.
This schedule is one year faster if calculated from the five year period since the last congress which was held in Lampung.However, Nuh emphasized that the congress was not accelerated, but returned to the cycle.
This is because the previous congress was actually postponed a year later than it should have been due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Rais Aam has outlined that the congress in Lampung has been postponed by one year because of Covid,” said Nuh, Tuesday night.
“Therefore, the current congress is not being accelerated, but is returning to the original cycle. Hopefully we can do it before the Hajj holiday,” he added.
