will be given a lifetime achievement award at the 2026 Golden Globe Awards which will be held next January.
The announcement of Miren as recipient of the 2026 Cecil B. DeMille Award was made by Helen Hoehne as president of the Golden Globes on Wednesday (5/11).The award ceremony will be held on January 8, 2026.

“Helen Mirren is a force of nature and her career is truly extraordinary,” said Hoehne, as reported by the New York Post on Wednesday (5/11).”His extraordinary performances and commitment to his work continue to inspire countless artists and audiences.”
With this announcement, Helen Mirren joins a number of other legendary actors on the list of recipients of the trophy since 1952, including Sidney Poitier, Meryl Streep, Barbra Streisand, Viola Davis, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hanks and Jeff Bridges.
Born with the real name Ilyena Lydia Mironoff on July 26 1945, Helen Mirren has been active in the world of acting since 1963, or more than six decades both in front of the camera and on the theater stage.
Mirren began her career at the age of 18 as a performer at England’s National Youth Theatre.There, she played Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra (1965).
Helen Mireen then joined the Royal Shakespeare Company and debuted on the West End stage in 1975. Since then, she has played various characters in front of the camera and in the theatre, some of which have become iconic.
One of Helen Mirren’s iconic roles was twice as Queen Elizabeth II.The first time was in the film The Queen in 2006 which resulted in an Oscar for Best Actress.
The second time was in Peter Morgan’s 2013 performance of The Audience which resulted in the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play category and the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress category.
In this way, Mirren was recorded as winning one Oscar, four BAFTA Awards (one for film and three for television), three Golden Globe trophies, five Emmy Awards, one Tony Award and one Laurence Olivier Award.
