A ninth grade or high school student in St Petersburg,
Russia
, stabbed his teacher and got a bad grade, on Monday (15/12).
According to the Interior Ministry branch in St Petersburg, the student, whose identity was not released, attacked the 29-year-old teacher with a knife inside the school premises.

“This incident was allegedly triggered by students who received bad grades,” the ministry was quoted as saying

The student also tried to end his own life, but was prevented by the police.
Russia’s Investigative Committee, which investigates serious crimes, said it had opened an investigation into attempted murder, and noted the teacher had suffered multiple stab wounds.
According to local media outlet Fontanka, both the teacher and student were taken to hospital and reported to be in serious, but not life-threatening, condition.
Media reports identified the teacher as Maria Andreyeva, a mathematics teacher at School No.191, and said the student was the son of a history teacher at the same school.
Fontanka also reported claims on social media that the student was not searched despite metal detectors allegedly detecting a knife at the school entrance.
Local authorities have not commented publicly on the allegations.
After the incident, teaching and learning activities reportedly continued, although some parents chose to take their children home early.
