Died at the age of 89 years on Tuesday (16/9) in Sundance, Utah, United States.
The Oscar winner for the Best Director and Best Actor nomination category is known as Dedengkot of Independent Film, and the founder of the Sundance Film Institute, organizer of the Sundance Film Festival.
The news of Redford died was confirmed by Cindi Berger, Head of the Executive of the Rogers & Cowan PMK Publication Institute, as reported

“Robert Redford died on September 16, 2025, at his home in Sundance, in the Utah Mountains – the place he loved, surrounded by the people he loved,” Berger said in a statement.
“He will be very missed. The family asks for privacy.”

Born on August 18, 1936, Robert Redford is an actor, producer and director from the United States who won a number of well -known awards, such as the Academy Awards, the Golden Globe Awards, BAFTA Awards, to the Presidential Medal of Freedom from the US President.
Redford began his career in 1960 by appearing as a legendary anthological actor Alfred Hitchcock Presents in 1961 and The Twilight Zone in 1962.
He debuted in the film world with a role in War Hunt (1962).But his name soared after playing as the main character in Barefoot in the Park (1967), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), Jeremiah Johnson (1972), and The Candidate (1972).
He had played on the Broadway stage and success with his role in Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park (1963).
Redford received the first Academy Award nomination for the Best Actor category after appearing in The Sting (1973).His name is increasingly moncer by playing in The Way We Were (1973), Three Days of the Condor (1975), All The President’s Men (1976), and The Electric Horseman (1979).
In the 80s, Robert Redford began to switch to the director’s seat with the film Ordinary People (1980) which later won four Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
Redford has played in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) as Alexander Pierce.
In 2008, Redford was given the gift of The Dorothy and Lillian Gish Prize, one of the most prestigious awards in the world of art because it was considered to contribute extraordinary to the beauty of the world and human understanding of life.
Robert Redford was noted to have been married to Lola Van Wagenen in 1958 and divorced.Redford then remarried Sibylle Szaggars in 2009.
