Indonesia next year will still depend on government incentives.Without government assistance, it is felt that sales will be difficult to develop.
The owner of almost 80 percent of the two-wheeled market in Indonesia hopes that the government will immediately provide assistance through incentives so that it can be enjoyed by the public, especially those who want electric motorbikes.

“When we talk about EVs next year, one of the drivers is incentives, and we hope that the government can provide them again, so that consumers can enjoy this. Indirectly, this will be able to encourage increased demand in the electric motorbike segment,” said Ahmad Muhibbuddin, General Manager of Corporate Communication (AHM) in Garut, West Java, Saturday (15/11).
“We are looking forward to that, because it really means a lot to encourage the growth in demand from consumers who want electric motorbikes,” he added.

This answer responds to questions regarding the position of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) in encouraging further incentives for electric motorbikes in 2026. This proposal is still awaiting approval from the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy.
The previous motorbike incentives were most awaited by many electric motorbike manufacturers.Because, after their current position is hanging, many people are postponing the purchase of electric motorbikes, which is causing manufacturers to have difficulty selling them.
This year, Muhib assesses that the electric motorbike market in Indonesia is full of challenges.Companies also need full efforts to keep sales rolling.
Honda currently has three electric motorbike models in Indonesia, namely the Icon e, CUV e, and EM1 e.The portion of Honda’s electric motorbike sales was not explained further, but it was agreed that it was still very small compared to fuel-based models.
“We are trying to offer it and it takes effort. Yes, we at Honda are always trying to penetrate,” he said.
AHM, through a number of main dealers, has held a quite bold program, namely offering discounts of up to tens of millions of rupiah to boost sales of electric motorbikes. However, the size of the discount continues to shrink from month to month, from tens of millions to just IDR 2 million as of October.
So, if government incentives roll out next year, will discounts on Honda electric motorbikes automatically stop?Muhibbuddin handed this over to each dealer.
“It’s temporary, we can see what conditions the playing dealers are in,” said Muhibbuddin.
