The incident in several apartment buildings reached 83 people in the early hours of Friday (28/11).
Of the 83 people confirmed dead, one person was a 37-year-old firefighter and two were Indonesian citizens who worked as migrant domestic workers.

Hong Kong leader John Lee on Thursday (27/11), as reported by AFP, said that the number of victims could still increase because 279 people had not been found.
Authorities said the fire had been extinguished at the sprawling four-unit, nearly 2,000-unit apartment complex, more than 24 hours after a fire broke out at the eight-building complex.
They have also begun investigating the cause of the fire – the financial center’s worst fire in nearly 80 years, after an explosion followed by fire killed 135 people in 1948.

The latest fire occurred in an apartment complex at Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, Hong Kong, on Wednesday (26/11).The fire spread quickly and engulfed the buildings which were still under construction.
This apartment complex consists of eight blocks.The fire occurred in seven blocks, of which three blocks were reported to be under control.
Residents of Wang Fuk Court, located in the Tai Po district in northern Hong Kong, said they did not hear the fire alarm and had to go door to door to alert neighbors about the danger.
Police stated that when the incident occurred, the apartment complex was covered in netting.Netting is usually used to keep construction materials from falling from scaffolding.
Police suspect that the net was the cause of the fire spreading quickly.This suspicion is known from the fire video circulating.
The mesh material in the construction should not be flammable.Contractors in Hong Kong must have a certificate to ensure this.
So, the police are now also investigating the existence of bamboo scaffolding and plastic netting wrapped around the building as part of a major renovation.
