Polda Metro Jaya appealed to the public not to be easily tempted by cheap promotions offered by wedding organizers (WO).This was conveyed following a case of alleged fraud and embezzlement committed by the WO owner

“We also remind the public to be more careful regarding the offer of wedding organizer services,” said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Budi Hermanto to journalists, quoted on Sunday (14/12).
“Because it provides space for promises, giving tickets, bonuses, honeymoons, photographers, all kinds of things and cashback, but this has never been implemented,” he continued.

Budi also appealed to people who were victims of fraud to immediately report it to the police for an investigation.
“You can go through the 110 Polri call center or come to the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya or maybe DM via Instagram Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya,” he said.
Polda Metro Jaya previously named Ayu Puspita as the owner of WO as a suspect.Apart from Ayu, the police also named a marketing person with the initials DHP as a suspect.
In this case, the two suspects were charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code concerning fraud and Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement.
From the results of the investigation, the police said that Ayu offered promotions ranging from luxury facilities to honeymoon packages to attract the interest of potential victims.It is known that Ayu actually used the victims’ money for personal interests, one of which was a holiday abroad.
“Economic motives, why is that? Because the profits obtained from the actions carried out by the suspects were used for personal interests, whether to pay house installments, then for trips abroad, and for other personal interests,” said Director of Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Iman Imanuddin in a press conference, Saturday (13/12).
