Indonesia made a historic record because it became the first representative of Southeast Asia (ASEAN) to win at
U-17 World Cup
.
This certainty was obtained after Garuda Asia won 2-1 over Honduras on field two of the Aspire Zone, Al Rayyan, Qatar, Monday (10/11).The two winning goals for the U-17 National Team came from Evandra Florasta’s penalty and Fadly Alberto Hengga’s goal.
This victory was Indonesia’s first in a World Cup, either at senior or age group level.

Achieving these three points made Indonesia the first ASEAN representative to win at the U-17 World Cup.Like Indonesia, Thailand has appeared in the U-17 World Cup.
Thailand has appeared in the U-17 World Cup twice in 1997 and 1999. However, the War Elephant team ended the competition in the group phase without points and finished at the bottom of the standings.
Of the six matches played by Thailand in the two editions, all of them ended in defeat by their opponents.
Previously at the 2023 U-17 World Cup, Indonesia’s efforts to achieve victory had not produced results.Indonesia, which has the status of host, achieved two draws and suffered one defeat.
Meanwhile, in the 2025 U-17 World Cup, Indonesia ended the group phase with one win and two defeats.The U-17 National Team experienced defeat when they lost 1-3 to Zambia and 0-4 to Brazil.
