The General Chairperson of PP PBVSI, Imam Sudjarwo, emphasized that the number one position in the Southeast Asian Games is the target of Rivan Nurmulki and his friends.
For this target, the Indonesian volleyball team will undergo training and test matches in China which will take place starting Monday (17/11).After leaving the Bamboo Curtain Country, the Garuda Voli squad will head to Thailand, which is hosting the SEA Games.

“In the 33rd edition of the 2025 SEA Games, I will send off the Indonesian men’s national volleyball team which will fight. Of course we hope to be able to maintain the gold medals we have won since 2019, 2021 and 2023,” said Imam at the team send-off event at the Police General Kunarto Volleyball Padepokan, Sentul, Bogor, Saturday (15/11).
Preparations for China show the seriousness of competing with neighboring countries which have made many improvements.
“Seeing the results in the 2025 SEA V League, of course all countries have prepared themselves carefully. Seeing the new strength, the Philippines should be taken into account considering that they have experience playing in the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship.”
“This year we are combining senior and junior players. It is hoped that in the future the juniors can replace the seniors. I am sure that these individuals can unite into a very solid team,” said Imam, quoted from the official PBVSI release.
Jasen Natanael Kilanta as the team captain also admitted that he was ready to achieve the gold target at the 2025 SEA Games. According to the LavAni player, currently the Indonesian squad already has its own capital.
“We are certainly motivated after we won the title in the second round of the 2025 SEA V League in Jakarta. We are more optimistic because we know each other’s character,” explained Jasen.
In the preliminary phase of the 2025 SEA Games, Indonesia is in Group B with Cambodia, the Philippines and Myanmar.
