Indra Sjafri believes his team has an advantage when facing the Philippines in Group C

The Indonesia U-23 vs Philippines U-23 national teams will clash in the Thailand 2025 SEA Games Group C match at the 700th Anniversary Stadium, Chiang Mai, Monday (8/12) at 18.00 WIB.
According to Indra Sjafri, the Indonesian U-23 national team has an advantage because the majority of its players have experience against the Philippines in the AFF U-23 Cup.

“Yes, we are lucky to have players who played against the Philippines yesterday in the AFF U-23 Cup,” said Indra Sjafri, Sunday (7/12), quoted from Antara.
In this match, the U-23 Indonesian National Team was able to dominate the game with 65 percent ball possession.
The Indonesian U-23 national team was also able to fire 17 shots, with eight of them on target.However, Indonesia’s chances were thwarted by the Philippines goalkeeper who made eight saves.
Indra also admitted that he had evaluated the performance of the Indonesian U-23 national team against the Philippines.This improvement has been tried again in four trial matches on the U-23 Indonesian National Team training camp agenda.
“So, that was our discussion about what was the problem at that time. And, thank God, we tried to fix it and we tried to carry out simulations through trials against India and finally against Mali. And, thank God, this team’s progress is very good and I’m sure tomorrow [today] we can produce positive results,” said Indra.
Regarding the silver medal target announced by the government, Indra Sjafri does not want to be burdened.
“I have stressed it to the players and also focus because however, as we planned, I put the burden on the players in stages. What is clear is that we qualify for the group first,” said the coach who led Indonesia to win the 2023 SEA Games gold medal.
“Therefore, tomorrow’s match [today] is very decisive for us so that we can move further,” said Indra.
