“This morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) opened fire on UNIFIL peacekeepers from a Merkava tank from near Israeli-established positions on Lebanese territory,” UNIFIL said in a statement.

Some time ago, UNIFIL just revealed reports about Israeli movements on the Lebanese border.They said Israel was building a T-shaped concrete wall on the Lebanese border.
In fact, UNIFIL said the wall broke the Blue Line set by the UN.They asked Israel to respect the sovereignty and integrity of the Lebanese state.
“A T-shaped concrete wall was erected by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) southwest of Yaroun. Surveys confirmed that the wall blocked the Blue Line, making 4,000 square meters of Lebanese territory inaccessible to Lebanese citizens,” UNIFIL said, as reported.

“In November peacekeepers observed construction of a T-shaped wall in the area. Surveys confirmed a section of the wall southeast of Yaroun also blocks the Blue Line,” UNIFIL said.
Israel denied UNIFIL’s statement.They claim the wall is a form of physical defense since the 2022 war.
“It must be emphasized that the wall does not break the Blue Line,” said the IDF.
