Mossad
It was founded on December 13, 1949, a year after Israel proclaimed itself as a state. This intelligence service reports directly to the prime minister.
Mossad Director David Barnea, when he was still in office, once wrote about the organization he led: We are an organization that has its roots since the founding of Israel.
In its early days, the Mossad consisted of several dozen extraordinary men and women, who worked around the world with great courage, wisdom and talent.
Mossad conducted infiltration and intelligence operations, most of which have never been revealed, but their impact on Israel’s security and resilience is unpredictable, as quoted on the Mossad website.
Mossad is said to have killed more people than any other intelligence service in the world. They are known for their killings targeting leaders from Palestine to Iran. They will use poison, snipers and bombs to eliminate Palestinian leaders or Palestinian fighters.
The killing by Mossad was no less cruel when it bombed Hamas leader Ismael Haniyeh in Iran along with his personal bodyguard in July 2024.
Haniyeh was in Tehran, to attend the inauguration of Iranian President Masoud Pezeskhian. When returning to the guest house, the bomb suddenly exploded. It is suspected that the bomb was planted and detonated remotely.
Likewise with the death of Palestinian liberation leader (PLO) Yasser Arafat which was said to have been masterminded by Mossad.Because Arafat has long been Israel’s target for elimination.
Until his death in 2004, many believed that the most charismatic Palestinian leader had been poisoned.
Al Jazeera
once published a report on how the secret service founded by Ben Gurion identified targets and executed them.

This intelligence service is specifically under the Israeli military.Aman is short for Agaf HaModi’in, officially founded in 1950.
This intelligence department originally consisted of former members of the Haganah Intelligence Service (Shai), a Jewish paramilitary organization that had existed since June 1920.
Under Aman’s auspices, there are special units such as Unit 8200 which focuses on cyber warfare and Unit 504 which focuses on HUMINT (human intelligence) and covert operations, which have existed since 1948 shortly after Israel’s independence.
Quoted from the Federation of American Science page, a number of electronic intelligence collection and observation facilities are located on the Golan Heights, including a facility in Har Avital which monitors Syria, and another facility on Mount Hermon which monitors Lebanon and Syria.
Aman was held responsible for the failure to obtain adequate warning about the Egyptian-Syrian attack that sparked the 1973 October War.
Shin Bet
Shin Bet or Shabak, This intelligence service focuses on Israel’s internal security and counterintelligence and focuses on potential sabotage, terrorist activity, and security issues of a highly political nature.
The Shin Bet is divided into three wings responsible for Arab affairs, non-Arab affairs, and protective security—namely, the protection of the Israeli embassy, defense infrastructure and the national airline.
The Shin Bet was officially formed in February 1949. The general public was unaware of its existence until David Ben-Gurion, Prime Minister from 1948-53 and 1955-63 and one of the founders of the State of Israel, in 1957 gave oversight of the Shin Bet budget to the Israeli parliament (Knesset).
This agency played an important role in Israel’s success in the Six Day War (1967) after a double agent provided false information to Egypt about Israel’s attack plans.
The Shin Bet was criticized for its failure to prevent the assassination of Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in November 1995 and faced scrutiny over its treatment of Palestinians, including the use of torture against detainees.
The agency took partial responsibility for its failure to prevent the October 7, 2023 attacks.
