Veteran actor Jeff Goldblum admitted playing in the film
Wicked
had a bigger impact on his life than just playing a legendary character.
In a conversation with The Morning, the 73 year old man said he became a vegetarian after playing the Wizard.

In Wicked, directed by John M Chu, Jeff Goldblum plays the Wizard who is the mastermind behind the capture and cruelty of magical animal creatures in the world of Oz.
“It’s very rare that you can do this over a period of time and get a more productive, interesting and relevant role for yourself in this period,” Goldblum said.
“Working with Jon Chu has been amazing. It has changed me. You know, after making this film, we talked about animal cruelty, I stopped eating meat and poultry.”

Jeff Goldblum returns as the Wizard in Wicked Part 2: For Good which will be released on November 20 2025. In this part, Goldblum will face Elphaba Thropp who escaped from Emerald City at the end of Wicked (2024).
Wicked Part 2: For Good will be set several years after the events at the end of Wicked (2024).Elphaba has become widely known as the Wicked Witch of the West after extensive propaganda by Madame Morrible.
This time, Elphaba continues her fight for animal rights while living as a fugitive.Meanwhile, Galinda Upland is now known as Glinda the Good and is watched over by Madame Morrible.
As Elphaba and Glinda face the consequences of their actions, their friendship is tested by a series of events, including the arrival of Dorothy Gale from Kansas.

Wicked Part 2: For Good was actually made at the same time as Wicked (2022) and was almost completed in July 2023. However, production was postponed due to the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike. Production was then resumed and completed in January 2024.
Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang, Marissa Bode, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles.This film is still being directed by Jon M Chu with a script written by Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox.
