A Jewish-Muslim family in Sydney gives a bouquet of flowers to the hero of a mass shooting incident during celebrations of the Jewish holiday of Hanukkah in
Bondi Beach
, Sydney, Sunday (14/12).
Flowers were presented to Ahmed al Ahmed as an expression of gratitude for his bravery and actions in saving residents during the incident.

After laying flowers on Bondi Beach, Misha Pochuev, Veronica Pochuev and their seven-year-old daughter, Miroslava, went to St George’s Hospital to visit Ahmed el Ahmed.
“We decided to come and give flowers, to show our support and gratitude for what [he] did,” Misha was quoted as saying

“My husband is Russian, my father is Jewish, and my grandfather is Muslim. This is not just about Bondi, this is about everyone,” added Veronica.
Miroslava, said she considered Ahmed extraordinary “because he saved many people’s lives”.
Previously, Ahmed went viral because of his action to disarm the perpetrator of the mass shooting at Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia, on Sunday (14/12).
His actions made him hailed as a hero because he was considered successful in saving many people.
Ahmed, who is 43 years old, is known to work as a fruit seller and became the public spotlight after his video footage circulated widely.
In the video, he is seen disarming the shooter from behind until the perpetrator retreats, before Ahmed places the rifle on the ground.
Now, the death toll from the mass shooting that occurred during the Jewish celebration of Hanukkah has reached 15 people, while 42 others were hospitalized as of Monday (15/12).
