).JPPI highlighted the DPR which endorsed the 2026 Draft State Budget and placed MBG as one of the largest priorities, with a budget of Rp335 trillion, where Rp223 trillion was taken from the post
education
.
JPPI National Coordinator Ubaid Matraji said the DPR’s decision to smooth the government’s proposal was not just a wrong policy, but a form of betrayal of the 1945 Constitution and at the same time devastated the national education sector.
“This education budget should be used purely for the basic needs of education education, not diverted for the” food-food “program. After being cut Rp 223 trillion, the education budget is only 14 percent of the total state budget, far below the constitutional mandate of 20 percent,” Ubaid said in a statement quoted Wednesday (9/24).

In addition, Ubaid said the move also ignored the rights of children to education. He brought up the government’s promise that argued that next year’s education budget rose to Rp757.8 trillion. But according to him, the increase was pseudo.
“Because hundreds of trillions are sucked up for the MBG program, not to guarantee and protect the rights of children for education,” he said.
Ubaid also said that this step had shifted the basic needs of education for children. He said JPPI acknowledged that the nutritional needs of children were important. However, he stated that the fundamental thing which is the basic needs of education which until now has not been met.
Ubaid said that currently there are more than 60 percent of elementary school buildings in damaged conditions, the number of secondary schools is still very lacking, school support facilities are still very minimal, and there are still millions of teachers who have not been certified and not yet prosperous.
“This must all take precedence because part of the basic needs guaranteed by the constitution that must be met and prioritized,” he said.
