Another user, Moli (24), said he often reports the adverts, but they keep reappearing.Meta itself has not provided an official response regarding this matter.
The government is preparing sanctions for gambling advertising
online
which targets Facebook, Instagram and Threads users.Because this practice is strictly prohibited in Indonesia.
The Ministry of Communications and Digital stated that it routinely asks digital platforms to remove gambling-related content.If there is no response, the ministry will send a warning letter which can result in strict sanctions.
“If violations are repeated and are not followed up, we will carry out enforcement according to the rules, including the possibility of terminating access,” said Director General of Digital Space Monitoring, Alexander Sabar, to AFP.
The government has taken down more than 5.7 million pieces of gambling-related content
online
in the last eight years.Law enforcement was also stepped up, including the arrest of at least 85
influencers
throughout 2024 for promoting gambling
online

Those who promote judol under the guise of advertising can be sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.Meanwhile, gambling players face a four-year sentence.
Last October, the government even suspended TikTok’s operating license because it refused to provide data regarding accounts suspected of monetizing activities
