and as reported by the New York Post on Friday (28/11), the judge again sided with Perry even though he did not grant all of the musician’s demands.
The judge ordered Westcott to pay compensation of US$1.84 million or Rp. 30.6 billion (US$1=Rp. 16,647) for the chaos of the house dispute. This figure is below Perry’s demand of almost US$5 million.
The amount requested by Katy Perry is a combination of material compensation due to not being able to rent out the house, worth US$3.5 million, and repairs to the house amounting to US$1.3 million.
The amount of compensation determined by the judge this time consists of the calculated loss of rental value minus the reduction in capital and retained interest, plus the amount of agreed repair costs.
This decision comes after the Court reviewed months of financial documents, property appraisals, and expert testimony.
This crisis started when Katy Perry bought a house on 2.5 hectares of land with eight bedrooms in July 2020. She, who at that time was still with Orlando Bloom, bought the house for US$ 15 million from Carl Westcott.
However, a few days after signing the contract, Westcott then canceled it.He claimed he was recovering from back surgery and undergoing treatment so he was too weak to understand what he was signing.
Westcott also said he suffered from Huntington’s Disease, a neurological condition he suffered from in 2015, as support for his claim that he did not have the capacity to agree to the transaction.
Perry and Bloom’s team wrote back and insisted the transaction was legitimate. They also argued that Westcott tried to cancel because they realized the value of the house could be sold for much more.

The dispute was then taken to court and the panel of judges sided with Perry, stating that Westcott was “coherent, sober, clear and rational” at the time of the transaction.
Perry only received ownership of the house in May 2024. As a result of the dispute that had been going on for years, the house could not be rented out so it was damaged. On this basis, Perry demanded compensation from Westcott in November 2025.
Even though they have won, the final decision hearing regarding this civil dispute will be scheduled for December 30, 2025.
New York Post
said he had contacted representatives of Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom regarding the news.
