Kazakhstan Will Join Abraham Accords

United States President Donald Trump stated
Kazakhstan
will be the first country to join the agreement
Abraham Accords
in his second term.
In a post on social media, Trump said Kazakhstan’s signing to join the Abraham Accords would be announced soon.

“We will make an announcement soon
signing ceremony
to make it official, and many more countries are trying to join this POWER club,” Trump said on Truth Social, Thursday (6/11), as quoted by Reuters.
This announcement came after Trump admitted to having had telephone calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Kazakhstan already has diplomatic relations and economic cooperation with Israel.This signing is only symbolic.
US special envoy Steve Witkoff previously reported that there were countries that wanted to join the Abraham Accords.
However, he did not say which country it was.Axios was the first to report that the country was Kazakhstan.
Sources familiar with this said that the US hopes that Kazakhstan’s entry into the Abraham Accords will help revive the agreement as well as expand it.
Trump has repeatedly stated he wants to expand the Abraham Accords.The Abraham Accords are an agreement to normalize relations between Israel and Arab-Muslim countries that Trump mediated during his first term in office.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain reconciled with Israel in 2020 within the framework of the Abraham Accords.Morocco then followed at the end of the same year.
Saudi Arabia was previously rumored to be joining the Abraham Accords.However, Israel’s aggression in the Gaza Strip ended this prospect along with the Saudi position which emphasized support for a two-state solution.
Indonesia is also reportedly one of the countries targeted by Trump.Even so, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that recognition of Palestinian independence and sovereignty must be realized before that.
