, Brazil’s Supreme Court (MA) closed the Bolsonaro coup case on Tuesday (25/11).Thus, the verdict against Bolsonaro is final and he can no longer appeal.
The Supreme Court’s decision also paves the way for the court to execute Bolsonaro’s 27 year prison sentence.

Earlier this month, the court rejected Bolsonaro’s appeal.However, the court cannot confirm when the former Brazilian president will begin serving his sentence.
Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison for being proven to have plotted a coup against Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.The coup plan was made after he lost the 2022 presidential election.
Bolsonaro has been under house arrest in Brasilia for more than 100 days because he violated preventive measures in another case, namely requesting the intervention of the United States (US) in his case.
Since Saturday (22/11), Bolsonaro has been detained in prison for destroying a monitoring bracelet.He denied that the destruction was an attempt to escape.
In a video released by Brazilian authorities, Bolsonaro casually admitted his actions.
“I put a hot iron on it,” he told Federal Police agents, saying he did it just because he was “curious.”
